A Citizen Science
Understanding the state of our local environment is essential to making informed decisions about how best to protect our landscape and wildlife.
These projects are aimed at promoting wildlife recording and data gathering through citizen science. Working with partners, experts, universities, and volunteers, we will increase our knowledge about species and habitats on the Levels, alongside helping local people to better understand and appreciate this unique landscape.
Follow the links to find out more about each project:
Delivering wildlife recording and habitat survey training to develop skills, knowledge, understanding and appreciation amongst local people of the nature on their doorstep.
A project to engage local people in recording and monitoring wildlife through sound recording (‘bioacoustics’) and the creation of soundscapes.
New opportunities for citizen science will be generated through collaboration with university research projects.
