Working towards the long-term goal of a landscape designation for the Gwent Levels that recognises the national importance of the landscape, supports positive actions, and affords better protection from inappropriate development.

Aim

The historic, cultural, and ecological integrity of the Gwent Levels are conserved and enhanced through harmonised and consistent planning and economic development policies across all local authority areas.
