Student placements

Our Living Levels supports two short-term paid student placements for postgrad students (MSc or MA) working on dissertations connected to the Gwent Levels. Dissertation subjects can be suggested by the student, with agreement of University supervisors, or selected from our research portfolio.

Placements are between 6 and 12 weeks in duration.

During the placement, students will be able to work on their dissertation while also gaining valuable work experience as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering a wide range of projects. We can further assist with facilitating your research (e.g. negotiating landowner permissions), training, and can pay towards travel and subsistence costs (T&S).

Once complete, your dissertation will be shared with the Living Levels Landscape Partnership partners and will contribute to our understanding of the Gwent Levels.

• Flexible hours up to 37.5 hours per week

• Fixed-term for between 6 to 12 weeks.

• Salary: £24,571 pro rata.
