Moved heaven and earth to create a wall.
Then 900 miles of monastic toil, created reen and ditch in the levels soil
To stop the water from flooding the land, for centuries it made a stand
Til 400 years before the here and now,
the water swept away, man, woman, sheep and cow
The people returned and drained the land,
A home for 200 species in water, mud, soil and sand
And now across this land, we walk with pride
