Daily Life and Death in the Iron Age

Join Ian Daniel from the National Museum Cardiff as he delves into our Iron Age Celtic past here in South Wales, with some local references!

This talk will give an introduction on the Iron Age, looking at many aspects of daily life from bread making, potential medicines, iron smelting to combat, considering how our perceptions of the ancient tribes of Britain are changing.

We will take a closer look at Bryn Eryr, the roundhouse at St Fagans and how it was built, and at a local hillfort a stones throw from the museum in Caerau, Cardiff, which has become a centre for the community once again.

The museum is lucky enough to have its very own replica warrior grave. During the talk we will use this to look at ways of finding out more about a persons life in the Iron Age from the things left behind.

We hope you are able to join us for this virtual talk brought to you via Zoom - please make sure you have the latest update!
